One long-term care resident, One unit, One care community
We were so blessed to be featured on the newest season of Project Volunteer.
Our Mission:
Enriching and elevating the lives of those who live and work in long-term care communities by faithfully extending Christian compassion, charity, and friendship.
Our Vision:
Churches, small groups, or individuals will partner with every long-term care community in Kentucky to provide Gospel-centered friendship and to promote a culture change within so that every resident and every staff member feels supported, valued, and loved.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength is spent. Psalm 71:9
In the height of the pandemic, when we were not able to serve inside nursing homes, I created our Faith and Funnies newsletter as a way to minister to residents from the outside. The newsletter took off, and we got great feedback from both residents and activities directors. Part of the newsletter always includes a devotional that I write myself. Soon, folks started suggesting that I do more writing, including a book of devotionals. So the exciting news is....I am working on the book and I have started a personal blog as well. I'd be thrilled if you'd check out my personal blog, Shade Tree Stories.
